Ariana’s first introduction to arts management, outside of her own circus career, began with her role as the artist liaison in the multimedia production I Lost My Talk, directed by Barbara Willis Sweete, and based on the poem by Mi’kmaw elder and poet Rita Joe.
After this experience, she decided to attend the Arts Administration and Cultural Management post-graduate program at Humber College. From there, she gained valuable knowledge and skills not only within the program itself but through her internships as a Company Manager for Fall for Dance North as well as the Programming Intern with the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts (now Meridian Hall).
Ariana was hired out of her internship with the Sony Centre to become a Programming Coordinator with Civic Theatres Toronto (now TO Live), the amalgamation between three historic Toronto performing arts venues. Since 2017 she has been responsible for the ongoing management of programming events with the organization, and has since grown to be a Senior Producer with TO Live.
In the summer of 2020, Ariana was honoured to be part of the first all-virtual performing arts market of the pandemic, with her role as the MICC Virtual Production Manager.
In June 2021, Ariana was thrilled to be selected as CanAsian Dance’s General Manager, which grew into the role of Managing Director. She was honoured to lead during such a pivotal time for the organization.
Ariana continues to look for ways to support art and artists. She especially likes to work on projects that have a focus on dance, circus, or movement, or projects whose work focuses on equity and social justice.
